She's offered a VW Gol for a while. It's not related to the Golf series, but it's quite a decent little car. They're made in Brazil, and only come in manual transmission (at least in Mexico). We would likely have bought one if they came in automatic because my mom won't drive a manual (despite being perfectly able). If you don't need the drop top of a Beetle, the Gol at Isis is a much more modern car and in vastly better shape.
