I went through 3 cans of vienna sausages in Lake Travis (manmade reservoir) last week; one of them was BBQ-flavored. My dive buddy and I were testing the theory that fish would prefer *standard* vienna sausages over chicken-only sausages. Unfortunately there was so much fish and sausage swirling about, neither of us could properly quantify the differences.
After 15 minutes all the smaller bluegill has been run off by large bluegill, several big texas cichlids swooped in, and three catfish and one bass had joined the party. In the last five or so minutes I was startled by a eighteen inch giant goldfish muscling its way in. I had to look that up in the books; it was a common carp.
Thank goodness for manmade systems. It's good to be bad on occasion!
