The guy who didn't let go of his video camera broke MY FIRST RULE in diving: There is no scuba gear worth dying for.

An advice I've kept with me since i visited your shop :thumbs-up

@carlo: cool video! wish i had that kind of job :boings:

My advice: "Don't try this at home!"

My only experience with tiger sharks was while kayaking in the Sea of Cortez off Bahia de Kino back in the early 70's. We had one we estimated to be 22 ft long (OK, so maybe it was just 21.8 ft) when compared to our 18 ft kayak. It bumped us, lifting up the bow where I was seated. It must not have liked what it felt because it didn't come backl to take a bite. We later learned it occasionally took crew members who slipped off the deck of the shrimp boats that worked that area.

absolutly fantastic , i love it , i would love to do that , aahhhh minus the camera of course, i would have been bummed over my camera, guess thats what insurence is for. thanks so much for sharing such great video!!!!!!

Wow that sounds like a very scary experience! Here in the Philippines, I've heard stories of tiger shark encounters with Fishermen in the Ticao pass (near Donsol where the Whalesharks are). Apparently, the nutrient-rich waters of Ticao not only attract the popular whale sharks and mantas but all kinds of pelagic fish - including tiger and bull sharks. When I was in Ticao last year, our "bangkero" or boatman told us stories of "mga tigre" (tiger sharks) bumping their boats at night when they were fishing and sometimes eating parts of their outrigger bangka. I guess these guys take a bite out of anything! Testing if they can be eaten perhaps :)

I also heard from Nathan Floro of Adventure Bound that they've seen a lot of sharks in Ticao during their dives around San Miguel Island - Parola point. One time they even spotted the very agressive Oceanic Whitetip. Hey, Ticao might be our mini-"Fiji" here in the Philippines :)

Hehehe didn't mean to scare you :) Don't be! Ticao is a great place. I'm sure the mantas and whalesharks will be a sight to see.

As for the sharks, I don't think you should worry much. Remember, these Fishermen had nets with injured fish naturally attracting sharks. I'm sure Fishermen in Anilao or any other place in the world would've had similar experiences.

Where is Ticao!?! Accessible from HK??
