I think Mi Banana is fun for local Columbian food and great desserts, homemade. It's cheap too. Love the fish and fries at Bobbijan's. I love the wine and pasta and homemade gelatto at Capriccio's. The best dining is at Yacht Club. See Caribbean Wind & Sun Vacations--Bonaire Blog for my 50th b day dinner photos. Amazing..Wil's Grill has the freshest fish and wonderful owners...Mona Lisa is top notch too..

Funny, all the years we have been visiting Bonaire, we have never tried the Yacht Club. Somehow the name turned me off, and I was never tempted to visit. :dontknow:

I read about all the good places to eat how about the cheap places like WattaBurger . It sounds like this place might be more in my price range :dontknow:.

Eating out on Bonaire is not cheap. Heck, being an island, grocery shopping is not cheap, either.

We usually are pretty conservative, and try to keep things simple, and just go out one or two evenings with friends for a nice dinner.

Maiky's Shack is the place to go for a true Bonairian local experience, and just about all your group can eat and drink for about $25 a head! We love it there and will be taking our group there again this year, probably twice!

Although I've never heard of it, one of the other divers was raving about eating out at some place called patsy's

Now this is funny... I paid 8.00 for a bag of Shallots (about 6 small ones) just this past Tuesday... Can't do that to often...! ;)

Sorry CTX... I could almost tell you since we walked by Wattaburger this evening on our way to the Italian joint I mentioned in a earlier post... Smelled good enough to comment to my wife that we should have tried it...!

Cappricio's is our favorite for sure. Next trip, we'll stop in ahead of time and pick out a wine to be opened and ready for us at dinner time.

Unbelievables would be second. Yum.

As for the Tipsy Seagull, we never ate lunch or dinner there, but our breakfast was included in our Plaza package last trip. After the second day, I started only eating the fruit on the buffet that I knew was fresh (because it wasn't on the buffet the day before), after I got a piece of melon that had sections that were decidely not the right color! Based on the bad experience at breakfast, I never even considered dishing out money for lunch or dinner there. I guess there was one exception - the beach BBQ. The ambience was awesome, the food was good and a great deal. I would definitely do that again.

They don't serve Breakfast at the Tipsy Seagull so that must have been the restaurant by the pool. agree with your assesment there. 'Ordinary' would be generous. Loved the Tipsy Seagull but would never stay at the Plaza again.
