Overexposed2x you read tony's book, if you did you would know that he CAN cook.

From what I see of his cooking style on TV I'm not impressed. Love his demeanor and know a few chefs that are like that. From what I've seen he is no Charlie Trotter, Daniel Bollude, Nobu or the chef from the French Laundry in Napa... Any of them will hold muster(d) to Europes finest Michellin 3 star chefs.

Just my personal taste...

Emeril rules, but his ingredients are pre-cut and ready to go for him, that's where the real art of cooking starts.

Jeff Smith? That is sad news, indeed. He taught me a lot about cooking. I am a big food show fan, and he is one of my favorites.

Re: Jeff Smith

Yes, regardless of what ever else may or may not have transpired, he did a good show. I have one of his books, and the recipes are good and not difficult to follow. That's more than half the battle.

Fly N Dive:
iron chef is great, anyone see the iron chef america (flay, puck, and batali)

Oooh... just found the Scuba Chef forums... may make it my new home...

Iron Chef America was exactly as should have been expected. Take the awesome show that Iron Chef is, and then *******ize it Food Network style. Anyone who has watched the original will see what happened with ICA. The judges were HORRIBLE, and extremely biased towards the American chefs.

Sakai lose to Flay? What kind of crap was that? I actually felt more stupid after listening to the judge's comments.

Anyway... this could turn into a long rant... better stop now.

Favorite Celebrity Chefs...

Thomas Keller, chef of the French Laundry in Napa.
Masaharu Morimoto, Iron Chef Japanese
Hiroyuki Sakai, Iron Chef French
Anthony Bordain, because he knows what a real kitchen is like.
and... just because he wears colorful shoes and shorts... Mario Batalli
