how much do the mk8's cost?
these seem to be the hightest quality on the market and most heavy duty so i wont be too surprised witht he price.

also if you have one how do you like it?

They cost whatever ebay will bear since they have not been made in years and years to my knowledge.

are you sure?
their website seems current and the company obviously still exsits, they even talk about working with dive rite to develop the optima, which is quite recent. why would they have thier product line on the website and not produce it anymore?

Their company is being run by a new CEO (Asseer) who boasts a Harvard education taken as an extension course! If anything the recent IANTD fiasco points towards something not so pretty.

Farrallon do not produce a scooter. Their last attempt was the ill-fated "Arrow" attempt with dive-rite. That flopped. They are now building part of the Optima Rebreathter with Dive Rite.

So if you want a Farralon Scooter, try Ebay. If you want a modern, top of the line scooter I have three suggestions (in no particular order)

1. X-Scooter

2. Silent Submersions Scooters

3. Gavin Scooters

Oh, and be prepared to write a check for about $4k for any of them.

i just want to know how much it costs honestly.
:)

I think brand new they were in the sub to + 4000.00 range. I bet you could also find some people trying to get rid of the arrow for under 3000.00/2000.00 Police scuba depts., institutions often have Farallons around collecting dust. They might be a source to examine, or ebay as Perrone mentioned.

I'll say one thing about these scooters - very old school, Cousteau-like. Some required a custom dolly to move them back and forth.

I have a MK7 and MK8 and both of them wasting away in the shop. Once you get a bit of water inside of them they go to #$%$^&. Been collecting dust for years.

Dude....they were top of the line in the 70's! Even then they were dinosaur-like in size and performance! However, if you showed up with one in those olden days every hardcore diver dude had a woody for them.

I think you can twin up Torpedo scooters to make some video platform. Or better yet, buy a new X scooter with a built-in camera. 5.000.00+ Having seen the Torpedo up close....it seems to sit in between the boundary of diver tool/toy.
