Ok thanks. Ask him to post in Dr Deco forum or Accidents when he feels like it ok?

I have not traveled nearly as much as most of you, not that I don't want to but the wallet tells me otherwise. I did not feel in danger while driving on our last trip. I just try and be extra careful. Plus we met some other people that have been to Roatan many many times, and they suggested we try the rental car. Some of you may think I was crazy for driving there. But I even rented a jeep on Cozumel a few times and the ever dreaded golf cart on Ambergris Caye in Belize. Felt no danger there either. To really through some of you for a loop, I waited until I was 51 to try skydiving, it was great, I'm going again in a couple of weeks. This time my 2 adult kids are going with me. Scuba dive in a quarry one week, sky diving the following week. Life is good.

Good for you...life is not a spectator sport - it is to be lived to the fullest :cool2:

I don't think anyone on this forum means to insinuate that you are not capable of handling a rental car or golf cart or scooter or whatever your chosen mode of transport may be. I think the point is that we have numerous experiences on the island of Roatan and simply are trying to offer an awareness of the possible consequences which could result from accidents on Roatan - not only from the medical perspective, but especially the LEGAL perspective.

That being said, you're a grown-up person...make your own INFORMED decisions :kiss2:

I agree with you that there are always consequences to what we do. I understand that you and many others have been to Roatan alot. I always read whatever you post on here, since you have been there numerous times, I have been there once. I hope to return again, because I really liked the diving and FIBR. My point was that we rented a car and had no problems. Maybe we were lucky, I don't know. Hopefully we will go back next spring, if we do I would rent a car again. I did not intend to sound like there are no risks with a rental. I just stated that we rented a car and had no issues. SORRY

Hey, CajunDiva;

One more quick question, please:

Did they ask to check dive logs at FIBR? What logs we keep anymore are downloaded in the computer when we return home and we don't typically print them out anymore.

ThanX again !

They don't ask for a dive log, only a c card (which they don't peruse too closely).

23 days and counting to FIBR.

I'm not her but they only pretend to look at c-cards like most ops. As usual, I used my defective Padi card that says nothing...
