I'm leaving for Fantasy Island on Saturday for 2 weeks. Anyone else going then?

I've been there before but can't remember whether they have hair dryers in the bathrooms. Can someone remind me?

just got back and no they don't have hairdryers...

Hair dryer, seriously?

I'm at the resort right now and my room has a hairdryer. I asked and was told about half of the rooms have them. If you are like my wife play it safe and bring one.

Exactly, I mean it's Roatan, Not even like your staying at some infinity bay or elswhere, Its a laid back dive resort, all are divers, Get the gardener to fan your hair with a banana leaf if its an issue but you must realize, NO ONE, Absolutely NOONE will care if your hair came out perfect

Hair dryer. That made me giggle...

You know, though, in these days of airline baggage harassment, saving a 1.5# by not bringing that along would be a nice plus for some of the more hairy amongst us. It isn't sometimes a factor of style as it is dealing with thick hair. Thus, RTBDiver & I have no use for such contrivances.

The H Factor comes in to play: Even plastic rusts. Hair dryers might have a life expectancy right around that of a PC. Slightly less than that of an electrical light bulb socket.

What is that, a year?

Most of the rooms at Fantasy Island DO have blowdryers. But you must remember that if one breaks you can't just run out to WalMart and pick up a new one. So if the room you are in has one...great. If not, be really nice to the girls at the front desk and they might just find you one ;)

Come on now, I am as hairy as the next guy or gal and still do not need or use a hairdrier. Of course my issue is all my hair seems to fall from the neck down. I guess this is an area it is beneficial to be 5'9" and yet only have hair that is 5" even.
BUT Where are all those environmentalists that cry about deet and such? This is a small island with minimal resources, Is using a hairdrier and requiring all that deisel fuel be burned worth it? Come on, think of the reeef:D

If you were a woman and had a choice between walking around with wet hair for 6 days or having it dry in between dives and when you went to bed at night I think you would choose to fire up a hair dryer from time to time during the day and especially before you went to bed at night. As far as hair dryers goes I considered them worthy enough to keep "spares" in the engine room along with other things like water pumps and tank valves. Let's face it...in this day and age the divers that hold together the recreational dive industry like the best of both worlds.
