Shark Finning Ban Proposed By European Commission

Here's the problem I see with simply banning finning. Sharks contain a great deal of mercury (a toxic heavy metal). So really, what's the point of eating shark at all? We have so drastically reduced the numbers of sharks on the planet, perhaps it is simply time to ban shark fishing overall....thoughts?

Upward Bound IMPACT at Broad Key with RJD on Vimeo

Educating the next generation is what conservation is all about!

"In early August 2011, 18 high school students from the Miami Science Museum's Upward Bound IMPACT program joined the RJD team at Broad Key research field station for 2 full days of marine-related activities. Students learned hands-on with shark tagging, kayaking, snorkeling on the reef and along mangroves, and an special presentation by Dr. Neil Hammerschlag."
