Protecting Alaska
Bristol Bay in Alaska is an environmentally and economically critical area. This area, properly managed, will continue to produce sustainable fishing and superior economic benefits. There are proposals to explore for gas and oil in the area - these proposals are short sighted and the potential economic gains are minimal when compared to the continuous gains from the fishery. Additionally the potential for economic and environmental disaster greatly outweighs any short term benefit from petroleum exploration. - Excellent read, please share!

RYOT News » Arctic sea ice larger than U.S. melted this year
"Not only is the evidence in support of climate change mounting every single day, but it’s manifesting itself in very obvious ways. Ice the size of the U.S. gone, just like that! It’s time to do something about it. The Ian Somerhalder Foundation is working hard to create green technology and energy. They’re also protecting animals by reducing the impact of global warming on endangered species."
The time to act is NOW! We are destroying the planet and without that we have nothing....
