I have a Sealife underwater camera. Should I buy an external flash or a strobe or both?

Aren't an external flash and a strobe the same thing? In any case, yes you do want an underwater strobe.

I thought they were the same but I am new to this so duh what do I know! Thanks.

Then you will have duel flash setups!

A flash is highly recommended if not essential depending upon where you are shooting.

However it's one more thing to learn how to use.
