If you don't like shallow silly topics, "move along.... nuthin' to see here."

I am unabashed watch fantatic and last year I got a high end Omega dive watch as a gift. I will be doing my classroom and pool sessions for OW certification in a couple of weeks and am wondering if I will look like the ultimate poseur if I wear my watch to class. I know in the end this doesn't mean a thing and it is a silly question but I gotta ask. I'll probably still wear it no matter what.

Cheers.

Naaaahhhh.

I too am a watch freak, and I don't think "normal" people will even recognize an Omega from a Timex (sad, I know!) Me and you, however, would notice a PO from a SMP or a SeaDweller from a Submariner at 100 yards.

Don't worry about it, enjoy your class, and be glad you know the difference between a bezel, chapter ring, and crown!

Most people won't know an Omega watch from a Mickey Mouse one. A dive watch is for diving, knock yourself out.

Search for the "we will laugh at you and you'll look like a dork" thread. Unless you don't like shallow silly topics.:D

If you wore your watch and a pink snorkel, it would be a perfect match.

Wear your watch silly....... If I was your Instructor and saw that baby on your wrist I would certainly notice it and I would secretly be giving you kudos in my head for being excited and actually having a watch at your training session...!

If I was the instructor and also owned an LDS, I would be thinking about all the equipment you could afford that I would be trying to sell you.:D

Whatever it takes to get you through to the next dive! Go for it if it feels good!

Just remember: You may end up being the stereotype that you laughed about before, and now you have to work through this stigma! The new guy with all new of the best gear and no diving skills. Don't forget what is most important is that you get the experience, but the gear is fun!
