That looks like an original. Does it have an oral/nasal pocket? Not all EXO's have balance regulators. An original can be retro'd with an oral/nasal. Not sure whether the second stage can.
If it is balanced it should say it on the purge button.
The oral nasal cavity is also pretty obvious.
I was not aware they ever came from KM without one, but they are easy to remove and in fact many divers use a long zip tie to secure it around the perimeter where it connects to the mask to keep it in place.
