Cape Verde storm Florence will be approaching the Caribbean in a few days.

Tracks I've looked at for Florence put it more likely to head more northerly into the Atlantic rather than into the Caribbean.

Yeah, the average of the computer models is north of the Antilles. We'll know more in a few days which one of these she follows...

Now it looks like Ernesto is veering far south of the Caymans, and Florence north of the Antilles. :thumb:

Just came back from GC... after a week of semi flat seas as I was driving to Owens Robert AP saw more swells and chop but NOTHING bad. Ernesto is taking a more southerly track and those dive ops that were getting ready for more of a storm feature are basically back to normal schedules. Other words.... really a minor issue and yes diving will not be a smooth as last couple weeks but certainly not blown out. Enjoy your time on GC!

With Ernesto going far south you should take advantage of diving the North Wall ,possibly a lot of dive ops moved their boats to the yacht club.

Well, we're here now. Raining a lot, with the worst weather to come this evening/Tues morning. Dive boats didn't go out today but tomorrow afternoon looks good. Got a shore dive in at Eden Rock right after we landed yesterday. Silversides were there so that was cool. Camera battery hadn't been charged though :(. Hoping to go back to see them again. Our Kittiwake dive for tomorrow was cancelled though. Might try to get in with another dive op later in the week.

They dove at LCBR this AM but the afternoon dive was canceled per our group who we will be joining on Sat. We are hoping that Ernesto will be on the Yucatan by the time we get to LC.

Misty89 try using Off The Wall Divers for the Kittiwake dive. I used them Sunday and they were great and really take care of you. Kelly, Tom and Courtney are very helpful and will do their best to make you feel comfortable with your dives.

The Kittiwake is not dived by anyone if a storm passes too close because it is so shallow. We were there a few months back and nobody was diving the Kittiwake because of the surge.

Am dives at LCBR were canceled today. They are hoping to making the afternoon dive. The good news is the barometer is rising and the winds are abating. Visability is a questionmark.
