Hey All. As someone who has always had ear issues, I have now read the internet pretty much from cover to cover (if that is possible) on the subject of ear problems, function and equalization issues. I have dived and snorkelled before, but never realized, or been told the importance of equalization. I have scuba-dived and free dived to depths without equalizing. Now I have read up on the importance of equalization and the many possible serious problems if you don't. I have to wonder, what happens to cliff divers, or even if we just dive off a dock or quayside at the beach? Diving off the dock, I must hit depths of 8-10 feet, and all the data states that the greatest changes in pressure are at the shallowest depths. Are we causing or risking damage to our ears when we do this? If not, how do we get away with the instant change in pressure. Are there any docs out there who can explain this? Many thanks in advance, and thanks for all the interesting reading so far.
