OK, I know I ask a lot of questions but that's because I don't know anything! Anyway, I was thinking about getting an electronic pressure gauge, because it will show pressure and estimated time remaining with alarms, etc...etc. However, I was wondering if a Cobra would make more sense. That way instead of getting an EPG, I would be getting an EPG plus a 'backup' computer at the same time. (If you've read my other posts you know I won't be doing this any time soon... )

I already have the Suunto Mosquito as you all probably know (I repeat myself a lot), so I don't really know if the extra expense of a Cobra would be worth it.

Thoughts, suggestions, comments?

I dive with a Cobra, I have a Mosquito for backup (mostly for trips).
If there is ever a problem with the Cobra (not likely, but I have heard of some) I can remove it and put on an SPG. I would be able to continue my dive trip without having to miss any days of diving.

Hope this helps.

I dive with the cobra and stinger for redundancy...never had a problem...once bent my cobra (3 secs above deco limit)....but the stinger was fine and i was able to continue my diveing that day with a working computer!!

I dive with a pressure guage and depth guage as a backup to my Cobra. I am remined how touchy computers are whenever I boot up my Windows based computer. I don't totally trust my Cobra and I wouldn't trust any computer 100%. I think a backup is just practical.
