Hi Bill H! Thanks for the positive response. I'm still interested. FYI, the road to Bear Lake is under construction this season, and the Glacier Basin campground is closed (Moraine Park is still open). That complicates things a bit, but it should still be 'doable'. I've done ice diving at Twin Lakes in Leadville, ~10,000 ft, plus Turquoise lake, so this should be somewhat comparable in terms of altitude. Other RMOs also have high altitude experience, although the hiking and hauling part is probably not too appealing to them.

Here's what I suggest. Keep an eye on this board -- sometime in the next few weeks we're going to reach critical mass and actually start diving again at Aurora Res or Carter Lake. This would be a great time for you and I to meet, talk, and do an initial shake-out of gear issues and teamwork. Assuming all goes well, we can build on that and start planning on Emerald Lake.

Sound good? Maybe we can troll for some additional participants at the same time. :D
