hey la_diver!

Will our room have a safe for our valuables?

Thanks

Michael and I have stayed at El Cid 4 times now. The one time we stayed in the low rise and 3 times in the tower we did have a standard small hotel room safe available in the closet. It is large enough for wallets, jewelry (if you take any), passports, documents, cash, perhaps a small camera, etc. . The safe is operated by a key. Just remember to turn your key in at the end of your stay or there is a $50 fee if you don't. I made the error of not turning in the key, only to realize my mistake upon checking in at the airport. Fortunately, one of the shuttle van drivers offered to drive me back to El Cid, wait for me and return me to the airport. I will add the driver actually did not charge me for the trip. I of course tipped him very kindly for his time.

Ditto to Sue Sue's reply. In our 8 or 9 trips to El Cid we have never had anything come up missing. We will leave our room and leave our cameras, laptop, dive computers just laying around the room. Allways there when we return. Guess I'd better knock on wood. Usually have the same housekeepers each time. Very honest.

Our first trip to Coz and stayed at El Cid in May. Great 10-day pkg through Bookit.com. On-site dive shop was great. Small fast boats, only 4-6 people. We had a private guide "Adrian". He was wonderful and thorough. Loved it so much we've booked already for April 2013.
