I recently built an El-cheapo II . Construction was simple, but I end up with a discrepancy of about 3-3.5% with a 50% mix vs the LDS which has a commercialy built Oxycheq o2 and He analyzer. Mine reads high compared to theirs.

Mine is set for 20.9 in air, reads 99.5 to 100% with 02 from my welding tank. Seems OK. How can I easily find out which is accurate? What is a suitable (and better yet cheap) gas for checking offset (zeroing) of the meter? Can I use acetylene (from same welding rig) or will that cause problems with the sensor?
