Saw this Friday.

Depth: 50ft

Asleep in his lair - tried to wake him, but couldn't!

Never seen this one over here.

Pic taken in aquarium in New Orleans LA last March. No response from them to email.

Same eel - small white spots, no eyes visible.

Estimated size 6ft ( based on size of head)

Can anyone give common name and scientific name?

Yep, looks like an Electric eel (Electrophorus electricus). Wich is actually not an eel but a kind of knifefish from South America.
