So tell me, is Ed Robinson's 3-tank dive worth the time and money?? I know Ed runs a great op and is always highly recommended, but I'd love to hear specifically about this dive.

Although we just got back from Maui a couple of weeks ago, we're already looking forward to a short trip back in April (got a deal we couldn't refuse), and are thinking about where we'd like to dive this time. :D Okay, we're addicted to Maui, I admit it.

It's definately worth it. I ejoyed it when I was there two years ago. Somehow they get the best pineapple I've ever tasted. I've also got the Maui bug, I'm trying to talk my wife into going back again. She says we can't afford it since I've spent too much on scuba equipment. :(

Outside of being three tanks it isn't all that much different than the normal trip. Most of the time, the 1st dive will drop down to 130' on either Reef's End or Enenui corners of Molokini, but I've done those same dives with Ed Robinson many times on their 2 tank trip. I guess that the only real advantage is that you are pretty much guaranteed a backwall dive unless the weather/swell makes it inadvisable.

Mike Severns also does a 3 tank dive trip each Friday. The 10 passengers max rather than the normal 12 max. They seem to have a wider variety of dives, and we've done some far, far south dives on Aloha Fridays.

I've enjoyed both 3 tank trips, but have a slight preference for Mike Severns.

DiveMe: when are you going to be there in April? I'm planning on being on the island from the 13th-28th... perhaps April/06 is time for the next ScubaBoard getogether on Maui?

We'll be there from april 1-6...a short trip, so we'll miss you by a week. Basically we're just sneaking over for a quick spring break. :07:

Thanks for the info Charlie99, that'll help us make our decision a little easier when the time comes.

That is specifically why I booked the 3 tank with ER last Dec. but then the choice was made not to do the back wall. No explanation was given. You were on the boat, Charlie... what did you think of the weather/swell that day?
