What Happens if you have soda before a dive? Cause ive had that and ive had like air bubbles but luckily i would burp and they would go away

Personally, I stay away from sodas.

Burping upside down has caused enough surpises to last me for quite a while!

Taste the same way going out that they did going in.

:rofl3:

Have a 'nuther nutterbutter peanutbutter sandwich cookie!

YEAH, ANY OLE CRACKER..WORKS PRETTY WELL i'LL TRY THOSE NEXT TIME!

I also know, first hand, that a Burger King Double Whopper with Cheese and a large order of fries will fit through the exaust port of a Sherwood Oasis Regulator in 65fsw. You wanna talk a sea life filled photo op?

I also have a problem with indigestion when diving so I don't eat much. A light to medium breakfast and then snacks for the boat. I take Clif bars (peanut butter crunch and carrot cake) and I do use the runners gels. The gels are great if you don't have the hungry feeling but know you need something to keep you going - you don't feel full but have the energy. And of course - stay hydrated!

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I rarely get seasick and seem to be able to eat whatever before a dive. Although there is just so much you can eat of fried noodles and rice that seem to be the universal lunch on diveboats in Asia.

Same here!! On the resorts too...all you can eat:D

The only proper food to eat between dives is a bacon butty with brown sauce :)

Those of you who suffer with heartburn or indigestion may have a hiatus hernia. If you do, the bacon butty will make your symptoms worse :(

I have heard of people having a big breakfast that didnt agree with them but I usually eat a few bagels before going out on a boat and maybe some fruit. But once out there I always have plenty of fruit since it helps with hydration and you might laugh but cold chicken right after a dive is delicious. I might be lucky but the only time i had a problem was diving a quarry one morning and ate a hardees biscuit, had indegestion all day.

When I first got certified, a long time ago, I remember someone saying that you can't throw up bananas. So, I always eat some banana, plain toast and herb tea before morning dives. When I am doing liveaboards, I take Bonine every day, just to be on the safe side, and I don't like to take it on an empty stomach. I suffer from reflux, so I almost NEVER eat between dives. However, I will eat a light lunch, including a soda and it does not seem to affect the afternoon dives.

I usually don't eat things with a lot of sugar before my dives, primarily because I'm hypoglycemic. I find that a bagel for breakfast with a little bit of cream cheese or a sandwich for lunch will get the job done. I also make sure, like others have said, that I am properly hydrated.
