My wife bought a gopro for our last trip and I would like to put the clips togeather to make a short video, no fancy music or graphics. I tried quik and it is easy but 60 sec is to short, I tried Blender but I dont want to spend the time learning it. Is there an in between video editing program, prefer to spend less than $100 on it, free is better.

Wondershare Filmora. Easy to use, lots of features if you care to use them, but certainly for stitching clips together, it's perfect and it's a lot less than $100. I suggest using one of the many transition effects in between scenes but nothing too crazy or it distracts from the video itself. On all of my videos I use the "dissolve" transition effect. I also use it for one click enhancement of the video, and to add a music sound track, beginning title and labeling of things such as wrecks. The unpaid version gives you a chance to try it out but there's a large watermark in the trial version that makes the finished video useless.

The old windows movie maker was flat out awesome. So simple to use. Hated to see it go

I was going to mention that one too. It's still around for download and although it's a bit limited it's also good for stitching videos together and adding effects. It's free software and compatible through Windows 10.

If someone wants Windows Movie Maker and can't find it I'll provide a shareable link to the installation file on my Google Drive.
