I'm thinking of diving East Point in Biddeford Pool Maine tomorrow. Is this site worth the 2+ hour drive from the Boston area? What is the best way to dive this site?

Thanks

I made the drive there once from Boston (as part of a diving road trip through ME). I *really* liked Biddeford Pool. It's super shallow, but had amazing light and interesting geology. It was summer time and a group of stripers followed us around for the entire dive. Probably only worth the one dive, but why not hit another site (e.g. Nubble Light) on the way back home?

Park along the long blvd. that approaches the ocean. Scout the side by walking down to the seawall and going to the right. About 1 house down you will find a goat path to the cobble beach. Decide if you want to walk down in full gear or stage on the beach. it's a toss-up for many.

At this site I like to follow out along the rocks, either straight out bearing right ot there is a cut to the left that lets you gead out along a second outbound ledge.

This is a really nice site. i usually keep the sandy bottom in sight while exploring the ledge. If you wander up onto the lege the plants can be meadow like. Plenty of surprises have been had here so enjoy it. You can approach 30 feet on a 90 minute round trip.

We are thinking of being there late Sunday AM.

I have been to Biddeford but never the pool area and never to dive. Reading this post makes me excited to try diving there since its so close to my current location. Its a unique place from what I've seen. Maine is the best!
