The girlfriend and I are looking to dive the morning of xmas eve. Looking to head out to catalina and dive the park. But if the conditions are going to be good on the mainland we may just do a shore dive and save a few $$

The problem though is she is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in a motorcycle race. She is getting around fine and feels up to diving, but a long hike down stairs, or a rough entry may do her in. So was just wondering what is the easiest shore dive around. Our only experience in shore dives is Shaw's.

Thanks for any input.

Regardless of where you go I would suggest you carry her gear for her and have her put her gear on in the water after you bring it out to her, that will avoid her putting any strain on the ACL from carrying gear through a surf line. That way she can just concentrate on walking and not balancing heavy gear on stairs or sand or surf. Divers Cove has about the fewest stairs in Orange County. Montage is where I dive paraplegic and quadriplegic divers, but it is a long walk so it is out for your purposes.

Vis has been awful along Palos Verdes for a week now but I have not heard reports from Shaws.

Right now there is a gale warning in effect through tomorrow. With only 1 day for the seas to calm down before your scheduled dive, your chances of a good shore dive are slim.

Pasley, I hope she does not read this! She might milk it a bit longer! She talking about racing a National hare and hound race in a few weeks so she must not be hurting too much. ( national hare hound = one of the toughest races in the USA on a dirtbike)

Dwayne I was looking at the Tides and swell predictions for Thursday and thought it looked good. But also wondered if there was enough time for the water to clear from the weather we are having now. I'm not experienced enough, but you may have answered my question for me.

Back up plans were casino pt. or going out Monday. Though this all may be a lewd point as she is coming down with a cold.

Her and I need to hook up with a club or local divers and get out more!

I agree 100%.

Either Diver's Cove or Heisler Park.

Heisler has no stairs, but the entry at Diver 's is more protected ..... and you have 90% chance to see the batrays
