E-PL1 broke while on vacation

Around Christmas I picked up a second E-PL1 body, and I'm very glad I did. While on vacation my first epl1 developed a card error. Shipped it Oly, they just informed me cost will be $138 to have it refurbished. My second epl1 is like new, and I have been wanting to buy the OM-D E-M5. would you spend money to get another epl1 just to have a spare epl1 when you are planning to buy an em5 in the very near future?

Called Oly Customer Care a few minutes ago, E-M5 not on discounted list to purchase, but suprisingly the new TG-1iHS is. They offered it to me for $349, which is better than any other deal on them anywhere. Think I'll spring for it tomorrow, continue using my remaining E-PL1 for a couple of more weeks. I WILL get an E-M5 and FL300R before Oly's rebate ends in late July, but I'm not in a rush to drop that much money at the moment. Mostly I don't want to order until both camera and flash are in stock for Amazon Prime overnight shipment.

Gonna miss the silver bodied E-PL1, but the black/silver trim is much newer.

I just finished looking up reviews of the TG-1. It would be a good camera to carry while riding motorcycles and as a pocket camera when out with E-PL1 and E-M5. Gonna pass on the TG-1 for now, price for it will drop over the next 6 months and I really don't need it, just want it.

OTOH, I need the E-M5, LOL. My remaining E-PL1 will be my primary UW camera until I make a decision on which UW Housing to use with E-M5. Hoping one of the offering will accept my current ZEN DOME for 7-14mm & 8mm FishEye.

I'm glad I had two bodies. Not having silver E-PL repaired, instead I have ordered an OM-D E-M5 from BlueWaterPhoto. Plan to get a Nauticam NA-EM5 housing for it later. The second E-PL1 I puchased a few months ago is like new and I'll continue to use it OEM housing for awhile.

Hope to get another E-M5 body in a couple of years, because the Nauticam housings is expensive, so I'll be diving with the E-M5 for years.
