I am a longtime Olympus user, E-PL1 & E-PL5 (both with Oly housings). But the 5 started exhibiting problems so I moved on.
I purchased from Backscatter, a E-PL10 with their custom AOI housing. When I took delivery I was taken aback at how small the buttons are, and close together, on that housing. More to come.
First I used the camera topside. At some point during my last such outing, I inadvertently switched color space to Adobe. These were viewable later, in windows viewer and Lightroom.
Last weekend I finally got the thing underwater in Monterey Bay. 50 deg F = 5 mil gloves. During the dive I tried to adjust exposure compensation. Between the gloves and the small and closely spaced buttons. I think I may have fubared the thing, because when I got home and downloaded I could see the images in Windows viewer, by my Lightroom does not recognize the files. I also saw an extra directory on the card, DIR?
I tried switching color space back but the subsequent test shots were not viewable. Since I didn't know what I might have inadvertently set while fumbling underwater, I tried a full camera reset, no dice.
Firstly, does anyone have a suggestion as to how to make the images recognizable by LR again?
Second, does anyone know how to shut off those pop-up hints that obscure half the screen when I'm trying to scroll through the menu?????
Thirdly, my LR is an old stand-alone version. Last thing I want is yet another subscription. But is it possible it's finally aged out? It's been unsupported for several years now.
Once I solve this problem, I'll have to look at buying a housing with glove-friendly buttons for cold water diving, but the Backscatter aoi should be acceptable for warm waters.
Thanks in advance.
