I've snorkeled here quite a few times and always thought it would make a great shore dive.

I've never seen anyone with tanks there, but I thought it would be fun to load up some gear, tanks, ect.(with a buddy) and head down for an afternoon.

Has anyone ever tried this?,seems like a good idea on paper, the propriters at the club are always great, any ideas?

Thanks

You could rent tanks at Divehouse down at the Fiesta Americana and take them back to Dzul Ha and do a slow drift back down to FA. I've seen it done as a drift snorkel, so you could easily do it as a slow drift.

Is that the same as Xel-Ha? I've been to Xel-Ha, but I've never heard of Dzul-Ha.

No. Xel-Ha is on the mainland. I've never been to Dzul-Ha but if he's drifting from there to FA, it's on Cozumel.

It's a little beach club on Coz,great for snorkeling.

We rented from the little shop on site. If you go in on the left side and swim out a little ways you can find a small (8 ft) mound of coral. Near the bottom/shoreside there was an eel. There isn't really much to see other than the beautiful fish, but if you are from up north and don't dive much it might be worth it. When your finished there is a little beach bar so kick back with a couple of coronas. That was fun.

Dzul-Ha is about a 1/2 mile north of FA. There is a little beach club there and reputedly the best snorkeling on the island. The current near shore takes you south at a leisurely pace and we saw a lot of people starting at Dzul-Ha and getting out at the FA dock.

Oh, OK. Thanks for the clarification.

It would be easy to rent tanks and drift back to the FA. Sign me up!
Rondo..Where are you in Colorado?
