Dump Valve Move

I am contemplating moving the dump valve on my neoprene drysuit. Right now it is located on the front of my arm, between my shoulder and my bicept. It works ok, but it is just close enough to my shoulder to make it impossible to see with my mask on. Because of this, I cannot tell if I am dumping air or not. I would like to move it about 6 inches further down my arm. If anyone has done this, or has a link to a good site that shows some picture and details on how this is done, could you please let me know. Thanks in advance.

In the interest of avoiding expensive drysuit work, and out of curiosity; why do you need to have visual confirmation that you are dumping? You should be able to both feel and hear the air release from the valve as it dumps. Cutting a new hole and trying to seal up the existing one might be a bad idea.

I agree with Thalassus......Fortunately, I had mine installed on the wrist for ease of use and exhausting....but I dont see the move being very easy unless your just going to have 2 exhausts....

Haven't I seen some dummy plugs/seals/nuts that can go in an old valve hole?

OK, everyone I talks to tells me Im better off not moving the valve, and that I will get used to dumping the valve at the shoulder. Thanks for your input.

I had the valve replaced and moved. Valve replacement might be necessary for you as well. On Post #11 there is a tip for donning your suit that should help put the valve in a better position for venting.

Actually, spectrum is right. There are plugs you can use on a hole. I used a makeshift version of that when I moved the OPV of my BCD to a different site.

Otherwise, maybe having 2 exhaust valves would be a viable option?
