I'm looking for input on the DUI Weight and Trim II weight harness. Has anyone tried one?

I've got one, and I love it. Once I put it on it doesn't feel like I'm wearing any weight at all, and I wear twenty pounds.

The reason that I choose to go with the DUI system is because it makes holding a lot of weight a breeze. If you only need to carry a small amount of weight, I think that this option would be overkill. If you are in the heavy weight belt range, then the harness system is much more comfortable and you can easily adjust where the weight sits on your body. The ditchable pouches can hold a total of close to 40# (although I would think that an extreme example). If you are looking for a comfortable way to hold a moderate amount of ditchable weight, this is the best solution I have seen.

Kind of ironic I place this post and get a response from Ellensburg. You could have floated the message down the river. Thanks for the comments. Ken :42: PS-Have you checked out Dan Little's One World Watersports down here? I'm just getting to know them but it seems like a pretty active group.

I'm still considering one for diving with a 7mm wetsuit. I'd prefer to have most of the weight on the harness and just enough in my BC quick release weight pockets to get positive bouyancy. Do the weight pockets on the W&T system interfere with various BC weight systems? Is anyone using the W&T system this way?

I have the #1 and may upgrade to the one you mentioned, for the wider straps.
What I like about it is , you can add/subtract weights quickly and it's comfy, also
a regular weight belt ends up/down around my knees. :11:

I have been using the WTII for over a year and really like it.

With my rebreather and dry suit I find it less bulky and really don't feel like I am carrying any weight.

I have a second one that I would like to sell if anyone is interested.

It has around 20 dives on it and comes witht the carry bag.

I use the W&T 2 with my drysuit (26 lbs). I think its the best thing since sliced bread.

I just started using the W&T - it's the same thing as the W&TII except it has webbed shoulder straps. Everything else is pretty much the same.

It's not an issue for it to get in the way of your BC because you can adjust the straps for the weight harness hangs low on your hips and out of the way of your BC. Mine is situated very low on my hips (would look a bit like plumbers crack) and it's totally outta the way of my BC.

I started using it because 20 lbs in a weight belt meant I fought to keep the belt around my waist the entire dive (I have no posterior and a bit of a beer gut - not a good combo for a weight belt). It's amazing how easily you can carry weight in it. I ended up putting more in the W&T and less in my BC. I carry 26 lbs in the W&T and don't have an issue carrying it around. I'll use the small bit of weight in the BC as ditchable. If I dropped all the weight I need for my drysuit (about 36 lbs.) I'd cease to be a diver and be start being a pilot!
