I was wondering if the new style rock boot from DUI is better than the old style? The new style have material covering the lace holes.

What new style Rock Boot?

Not sure how new they are. I just have the old style that just has the lace holes exposed........ without the extra flap material that covers the lace holes that is now present on the new rock boots.
My question is....... are the newer boots with the flap material covering the lace holes better or not than the older style boots (without the material covering the lace holes).?

The newer (last 2-3 years) boots don't have lace holes. They have speedlaces - canvas loops that allow you to just pull them tight. Yes, they are nicer than the old lace-up ones.
