Politics aside (sigh)

When did politics come into play? ;) I love my suits. I just had a bad experience at Dog Days and wanted to forewarn others who are thinking of attending.

Politics aside (sigh), Faith does a bang-up job of measuring for the special production (AKA custom) suits.

Hey ladies, especially, if you're thinking of getting a custom suit, getting measured by Faith at DOG days would be a good idea.

Misguided female solidarity aside (sigh), some of us are just giving our opinions based on firsthand experiences. All points of view related to such an expensive sport - especially cautionary tales - should be voiced in a forum such as this.

DUI makes the greatest suits in the world, and I'd be happy to have any of the DUI people as my dive buddy. Some of us on here just don't like the way they handle their consumer affairs, specifically DOG Days. By all means - go to DOG Days and get sized. Just don't pay for the ticket.

I'll probably go just to check out the zip seals, but, I have to say that I'm not married to my DUI. In fact, I would bet my next would be something else (maybe a DC), I don't really like the telescoping feature for example.

What about it don't you like? Drag?

I myself am not 100% sold on the ZIP seals yet, but must admit I haven't had very much experience with them. I like the idea, but donning/removing the neck seal was a bit more difficult, and I think the new seals are a potential point of leakage you didn't have to be as careful with before.

Anyone had any experience with them? It will be interesting to get the feedback from those who do go to DOG Days.

Just out of curiosity, if I wanted to try one of DUI's drysuits, how long can I expect to wait? I can imagine the tiny or giant sizes are available on walkup but I'm the most typical off-the-rack sized diver.
What's the time limit on the dives? I'm sure I could get the bottle to last over an hour at SFP.

.

Ya, it's just seem sloopy to me, I've heard with a well cut suit, although that extra material is not needed.

Still, overall I like my DUI.

Thanks, I need a good slamming now and again ;)

No female solidarity issues. You men just have it easy :D
Very few manufacturers know how to properly cut a women's fitted drysuit. Even fewer people know how to measure women correctly. Faith's da bomb when it comes to that in terms of having the experience in the industry and understanding the problem fit areas for women.

See some of you this weekend!

Demos

Demos will be conducted Saturday from 9am-5pm and Sunday from 9am – 4pm. Each demo will consist of a dive briefing, equipment sizing, and an opportunity to ask questions after the dive. As soon as there are 2-3 people ready to go in the water, an experienced drysuit diver or instructor will escort you on your dive. If you are a certified drysuit diver, you are welcome to dive with your own buddy. You can do as many dives as you wish. With numerous suits there usually is little wait, though you may need to wait a short time for the specific type of drysuit you want. You can try other DUI equipment as well in addition to SeaLife ReefMaster underwater digital cameras. We will ask that you do two dives in the drysuit before trying to combine both the drysuit and camera on the same dive.

walked around the demo day, noticed two guys in 350s and 104s. One had a Gavin - very cool looking toy. Hope everyone had a good time
