Then it's decided, we're kidnapping Sweetin and holding him hostage until we're reasonably prepared for him to conduct a fundies class for us. And my magic eight-ball says we'd pass...

JessH:
I would be interested in a Fundies class sometime in the not to distant future. Want to get comfortable with doubles first though.

Fundies can be done in doubles or single.
HEHEHE… be prepared to work and the video camera does not lie.

Hydro if your still looking for a suit have a gander at the tls350- great for travel and dries in a heartbeat- that’s my next suit.
I have dove a few suits and the DUI events all have been great.
It’s hard to beat the fit of a DUI suit.

For fins- if you are wearing rock boots- this usually results in a larger size fin.
For wetsuit I wear Regular Mares Quattro’s and with my Drysuit it’s an x-large pair.
Spring heels are your friend.

Weight- I usually bring at least 30lbs for these events. Depending on the suit I wear any where from 25 to 35 lbs. Call me doughboy! :11: Bring your own weight!

The DUI weight and trim system rocks!
With 30lbs of weight I put one- 4 lbs weight in each bc pocket the rest goes into the weight and trim system. Makes putting on your tank a lot easier.

Diving a drysuit- many variations.
I do the ziplock baggie approach. Get in- zip up, pull the neck seal and squat. You push out all the excess air. Let go of the neck seal. Then I put on my weight and gear.
In the water- I add air as needed (when you feel a little pressure.)
I usually close my valve at 15ft and leave it closed until we start our ascent and then I just open the valve. Only exception is deco- that’s another story.

Warning- do not pull on the neck seal while submerged! I had a wrinkle and wanted to straighten it out at 30ft. Yeah, I straighten it out and let in some (4 cups worth) of water. Looked like I pee’d myself.

Weighting is very important for easy of the suit- experienced drysuit divers will be there to help out- don’t be shy.
Have fun!
Andrew

We have tickets at the dive shop. $8 with a ticket per event and then $13 at the gate.

LVX, what suit do you have now and what are you wanting to try?

DOG Days are the best way of trying out drysuits of all different styles & normally the ticket price is well worth it. Our instructor/guide even signed our log books so our dives were used towards AOW cert. or our drysuit cert. which I did not do.
I tried the TLS-350, TLS-SE, CLX-450.
I looked at all different brands. Ended up with a CF-200, great suit for the diving I do & plan on in the future. My wife got a TLS-350.

And for any of you with older suits you might want to sell cheap, so you can take advantage of the really good deals they will have on new ones ... I can use a stock L or XL and will consider any brand and style if the price is right. :)

I spent :24 minutes in 53 df water today and it was getting cold.

I've been thinking again of selling my signature series CLX450. I may have to test out the TLS350s while i'm there. I wonder if they give super discounts for people that beg...or steal.
