I am now completely fed up with my Halcyon doubles wing. Has anyone tried the DSS Torus wing?

I was pretty sure I was gonna buy it, but after seeing the pink wing, I am starting to wonder (sorry Tobin). BTW, if I order a Torus could I get it in tye-dye?

Pink wing? More details please...

fishb0y,

We just finished a special order Torus in pink! Sorry it's sold. But we could do it again.

I routinely dive a Torus, and NWGratefuldiver has one also.

What I've found different from my horeshoe wing:

To descend I just lay forward on the surface and pull the rear dump. I've found I prefer this as it makes tracking my other team members easier, I can see them slightly below me.

In low vis (Shore diving in So Cal) if I've misjudged my descent and have to get on the brakes hard it's easy to over fill, and here again I can dump via the rear without needing to break trim.

For shore dives I'm usually in 72's or LP 85's. Also have used HP 100's. All trim out fine.

What sort of troubles are you having currently?

Without even mentioning the inflator, the lack of the ball on the bottom dump is driving me crazy. I know I won't be DIR (don't care) and that it is an easy fix, but combined with the reliability of the inflator, I think I made the wrong choice.

See what I get for supporting the LDS... just kidding.

If those are your only complaints then wouldn't adding a ball and replacing the inflator make more sense than buying a brand new wing.

FishBoy,
Have you considered replacing the dump string with #36 cave line?

Just ordered my Torus wing yesterday. I originally bought my Halcyon wing with the intention that if I didn't like it, I would sell it and get the Torus.
