Well received my DSS Single rig friday. Took about 30 minutes getting everything adjusted to where I thought it should be. Got to dive it saturday being a safety diver for the local University class. It elicited more than a few inquiries and inspections. More than a few divers offered to "exchange BC's with me" for a dive so they could try it out. Honestly this rig is the easiest to get into and out of that I have ever tried out of the water and it supports the weight much better than a traditional Jacket BC so those long walks are much better. In the water it was like everyone said. My Avid BC was very comfortable in the water. The DSS BP/W I couldn't even tell it was there most of the time. And it was great being able to lay on my back and look at the sky on the surface like a favorite old recliner while waiting for students to surface. No face down tendencies that I could detect. I also didn't need any weight other than the bp in fresh water and 3mm full. The short inflator hose was slightly weird to me until I got to use it in water then it all made sense.

Anyway the point of this long post is simply this: Tobin you got it right as far as I'm concerned, your BP/W setup Rocks. You'll definitely get my business in the future.(And anyone that I can convince too).

Another convert... excellent ... :D

Have you added a long hose and bungied secondary to your BP/W combo yet? Switched to Jetfins or Turtles? Ditched the snorkle? Reduced dangly bits?

As someone's sig line on SB says "Come to the darkside, we have cookies"

Really, it's nice over here. :D

Well as to conversion to the darkside goes I'm already there, my equipment is just now catching up;). I ditched the snorkel as soon as I completed OW although I still carry a folding snorkel on any ocean dives. I never had dangly bits, always kept everything close or stowed. I dive either splits or Jets depending on the need per dive. My next major purchase will be an Atomic M1 with a 7ft hose but my Maximus is about to get one too(hand me down to the SO) and I have to get a shorter hose for my backup.

Oh and I got the LCD30.

Which harness did you go for? (Pro-fit, or Hogarthian?)

You have seen the light and gone to the dark side.....

Yeah, Tobins gear rocks.

Hi, congrats on the new set up.

What does DSS stand for? I know what the BP/W is. I have only done the OW course and am learning lots as I read through the forums.

Thanks

or more likely, "Tobin, your mother found the ScubaBoard site!" hehehe...

I can't wait till I can afford to order my own setup from them.
