I put the compass boot into warm water and cut slit over side view port with a knife, on the Gekko just removed the pins from the wrist band and it slides right in

I got my compass out of its boot using hot water and a bit of force. Did not have to cut it out. Same strategy to get it into Tobin's mount.

Slit the top of the view port as well, to get it out.. didn't feel like forcing it.

I used two separate pieces of shock cord, with zip ties. Anyone use the single threaded piece?

Rainer:
Two cords as well, but with fisherman knots. Knots tuck away into recess.
Are you using thin bungee? The thicker stuff I used won't come close to fitting in the recess. I like the security, though.

Decently thin. In fact, I think the bungee I'm using came with the compass mount. Take a look at Robyn's next time; I think I tied her's as well. It definitely fits; though bulges a bit. Seemed more secure than using zip-ties (which have failed on me before).
