Just got my new Deep Sea Supply compass mount for my Suunto SK7. Wow! it is great. I hated the factory mount. I love it! I dove with it the past weekend. It was a vast improvement. After I got back home, I messed around a bit with the mounting bungee cords and now it sits on my wrist angled at the prefect view for how I hold my arms in the water. I loved that I could fine tune it just for me! I love it!

Now if I could just get Tob to make one for my Aeris Atmos 2 computer!

I wish there are more of such boots for various models of dive computer.

I hear you and second you on that. The mount is so simple, functional, easy to use. It really is a simple yet great design.

By the way, I took a very very sharp utility knife and cut my compass out of the original mount. I didn't want to fool with trying to pop it out and damage the compass. Once I saw the DSS mount, I knew I was never going back to the factory mount.

Did you first try just popping it out? Mine came right out. Not sure it matters, as you'd never go back to the old mount anyway! :)

No. I talked to several people who had switched over. Some just popped out, some got damaged. So since I was never going back, I cut it out. No damage and it was easy. I didn't want to risk the damage. And as my other hobby is wood carving, I am pretty handy with a knife.

Yes, the DSS mount is one of those things that somebody should have thought of . . . I'm really glad my Vytech fits in one of Tobin's mounts, too. Buckled straps just aren't a good idea underwater.

As per your post, looked them up on the internet, purchased one for my Gekko and one for the SK7, much more secure and quick to put on. One of the best purchases so far this year.

You are safe with me Sparti!

I just ordered another compass boot for my dive buddy on my last DSS order. I wish they had a boot for my Aeris Atmos 2 computer. I love that boot. It is so cool. It has several little holes on the side so you can mount the bungie in a manner that lets it sit on your wrist at the angle that is best for you.

how exactly do you pop it out of the factory housing? i'm having trouble getting the sk7 out, and my gekko into the other boot!! thanks
