Is anybody aware of a commercially available form that a drysuit fits over for replacing seals?

Thanks

Yes, and they come in multiple colors. There are other brands and types of bottles to fit different size suits. Grab whatever is around the house and try to fit it. It could be a glass jar.

Of course if you want the ultra fancy stainless ones OS Systems does sell them.

Depending on the suit the neck seal may be installed on a flat round surface.

Is there a translation software available for this thread? Money is a decent default universal translator. Is it that a drysuit seal is equivalent in $$ to five water bottles? :-)

If you walked into a store to purchase a water bottle and saw 5 different colors would you have to buy them all? If so I will have to tell your LDS to always show you every color they have for those snorkels.

for the neck seal, I found that a 5 usgal water bottle has the perfect fit.

I used a rubber playground ball for the neck seal. I like the water bottle idea better.

"Technical Manual, Viking Diving Suits"
"Viking Stavanger"

pg21 : "Use a bottle, or a round piece of wood, inside the sleeve as a form to ease the installation of the new cuffs"

That is interesting. How do you clamp the suit to the bottle or hold it in place? Does the drysuit want to slide around?

I just do them flat on a round board, or for inverted DUI style I cut a sheet of metal out and use that inside the warm neck. Then spring clamps around the outside until there are no waves and the material sits flat. Also allows a roller to be used, as it is perfectly flat.

Lol. Okay, I get it. I'll even add to the list. Try 500 ml plastic beakers for the wrists, they have a slight taper which works well but you have to grind off the spout on the top. I have a tupperware salad bowl for the necks that sometimes works well too. I also used a bowling ball once that I mounted on a piece of 3/4" pipe driven in the ground but its to cold outside for that right now.

Thanks!
