Obviously, fit is very important to proper use and comfort in a drysuit. However, if one is too big, what are the potential drawbacks? I just purchased a used drysuit at a good price and it is in perfect condition. Unfortunately, it is a little larger than I would like. I am tall and thin and there is more material around the hips, butt and lower leg than I would have liked. The height, chest, and shoulder area fit comfortably with a heavy undie. Range of movement are not constricted at all.
I asume that diving with a suit like this may have a couple of drawbacks. Would warmth be compromised because adding enough air to keep it warm be hard to manage, buoyancy wise? Would I need to carry extra lead to counteract additional air?
Are there any advantages to having a little more room in the suit?
Would a set of leg gaitors be beneficial?
Any advice or guidance would be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
