Hey I hate to drudge up an old thread but I'm in the process of trying to find a pouch for a DryFOB XL. How confident have you been in the Velcro on this thing? With the DryFOB XL fully in there, do you get enough Velcro engagement to be confident it'll stay secured? With my luck, i'll do a boat entry and the velcro will fly open. I've been looking for a pouch w/ a plastic buckle like many of these pouches have but they are all way larger than I really want. I purchased a few other weight pockets but they've all been a few inches shorter than advertised unfortunately.
That looks ripe for a bungee "safety" loop.Thank you @lairdb, images copied onto 'attachment tips' section with gratitude.
We had someone looking at making pouches for us but we'd have to order some insane quantity and then the whole shipping/tariff thing kicked in making seem even less practical. I'll poke around a little more at finding a solution but the HOG and this Dive Rite seem like good XL suggestions ...
As for the Velcro, I dove with the HOG multiple times with no issues. You could also clip something into the cap to clip it onto something like your beltmount or even through the two drain holes at the bottom of the HOG if you wanted to be extra extra safe.
Here are some pics, As you'll see, you get the 'full velcro' attached on both sides. The XL fits into the pocket with about a 1/4" lip and then the flap covers the whole area of velcro.

You can see the top closes completely with the DRYFOB-XL inside

While it looks like there is 'velcro left' at the bottom, the whole patch of velcro from the lit is touching the velcro on the side.
The velcro patch on the top flap is 1 3/4" x 2 1/4" so there is some good contact there.

Great idea actually, so long as the bungee can't work it's way up too far on the backside to allow the flap to open enough to slow the item to slip outThat looks ripe for a bungee "safety" loop.
Couple of gromets\melted-holes on the edges of the flap. Across the face of the flap, through the holes and hook the loop under the bottom of the pouch.
Paracord and a cord-lock would also work.
One thing I think i need to do is find a more "elastic" bungee. With what I have, I have the bungee as short as I can to pull it around the bottom and it's still too large to really prevent the flap from sliding back and opening if it really wanted to. Granted, the line would retain it but I don't want to be that guy potentially trying to put himself back together on a boat entry.Very Nice I use that pouch too and I think I'll follow suit with 'hardening' the enclosureWell done!
