Dry Suits: Pee Valve

Don't tell... and how would you explain putting on an external cath? At least the diaper is underneath your undergarment... with the cath you still have to hook it up to your tubing once the drysuit is halfway on... out on deck!

{I figure that I will spend years in these things eventually and I don't want to start now!}

Not necessarily... you could always go the external cath route with a bag.

{If I ever get to the point where I have to use a pair of depends. I give permission for a bullet to be put in my head.}

Be sure to have this added to your living will.

{One of our guys up here used one with a kink in his pvalve hose.}

It pays to have your plumbing in order... though you would think the guy could tell he was working against some serious back-pressure.


OK, now down to business....

How much extra buoyancy is added by that diaper and where is it?
What happens when you squeeze the charmin... err... diaper?

does anyone know of a better price than
$141 for a box of 100 of the rochester
wide bands? Or anyplace that sells the
advertised box of 30? All I've found is
onesy-twosy and box of 100.

The P valve is the way to go! god, just thinking about a diaper with a dump in it, and then suit squeeze... you gotta be kidding?

how do you avoid the embarassement when buying your adult diapers? i can just see myself standing in line at the cashier with my bag full of diapers. i would probably make sure to say something like "do you gift wrap? these are for my grandpa." in a very loud voice.
as far as catheter slipage, the thought has certainly occured to me given the well documented effects of cold water on the male anatomy. some viagra taken 30 minutes before the dive may be able to counter act any undue shrinkage. on the downside you may have to fight increased drag and your trim may go to hell.

I have to say that from experience, that some issues with Depends are:
-the smell; you need to bring something to clean yourself after the dive when you change
-potential for diaper rash if you do NOT change the diaper EVERY dive
Therefore i am now getting a pee valve installed. A Halcyon balanced model.

.....ONLY time will tell.
