I love DRIS also ( my records show that I've spent $1100 with them in the past year ). But if anyone wants to take a chance on some cheap possibly closeout lights.... $40 ain't much to risk.

Now if I could only find a nice can light in the $200-$300 range.

Ok, just to put it all straight

Yes, we have these lights made for us. The 1000 is NOT an exclusive product in the form you see it in the OPs link. In the form you buy it from us, it is 100% exclusive....The shorty is also 100% exclusive.

That light is most likely the same as the original 500 lumen light. We did revisions....triple o-rings, higher output, and much more that I will not name. The reason...we wanted a better light. My assumption is that the person selling those, has a couple samples or something they bought awhile ago and are now getting rid of them. That can happen. We haven't had the light for a long time, so others have tested it out as well. I know a couple BIG manufacturers here that have enquired about the light. It's kind of flattering  Back to the OP link, our light is built better, and we stand behind the product. Any problems, and we just replace them. There have been some issues, but we have sold over 1000 of them in a short time, and we stand 100000% behind the products we sell and put our name on.
.

It seems that DRIS has engineered in some additional quality items on this light that might be worth the extra consideration.

I will say they've stood behind their product also. I had my first 500 lumen light turn on underwater automatically (when submerged). I contacted them and they said to send it back and they'd replace it. ( don't think I ever did... I forgot about it).

Hear, Hear!!!

I was only thinking of price when I bought my first DRIS light. But, having lived with the product, bought 3 more, and interacted with Mike over the last year, am definitely a DRIS fan.

The manufacturer has never made and will not make a 1200 lumen version. It is 100% false advertising. That is an old light they are selling and are exaggerating the output beyond what the manufacturer says/claims. The reason you don't see the manufacturer with a 1000 lumen on their site, is it is only available to us and they don't advertise it  Now, we HAVE done private label and will continue to do so for other dive shops. The love the light, the price, and want to have their name on it. So, you might see that in time as more of them get out there. Those will 100% be the original light, with all the great and evolved features, but with another Dive Shop name on them. We want all shops to succeed, and do our best to help other shops as much as we can whether it is repairs, equipment, support, or just industry evolution help.

Mike_s just send it back....the offer still stands, and will continue to stand even if you forget for another few months or longer

Thanks everyone for the compliments. Our goal this whole time was to bring to market a kickass light, at an extremely pocket friendly price. There are LOTs of light choices out there, and we have tested a TON of them. You will only see things that pass our quality control with our name on it.

Chrpai - Hog has the Morph Can light out now..... :D email me and I might be able to hook you up.

I'll assume that's an April Fool's joke. :) Otherwise I'd have to go crawling to my wife asking for more money...

Still trying to get the courage to ask her. :)

(yes, my knife is that small )

Come on man. MAN UP!!! I wear the pants in my family!! But only because my wife bought them for me
