I plan on visiting the Iberostar Complex for an upcoming vacation, and I wanted to know what people's opinions are regarding Dressel Divers. The impression I've gotten so far is that they're expensive and you're limited to 45 minutes a dive, but if you're looking for something low hassle then it's worth it. Does that sound right?

Also what kind of exposure protection do you recommend for summer diving? I have a 3 mil Pinnacle Seal that I'm very happy with. Is that too warm?

I assume you are referring to the Playa Paraiso complex (Maya, Grand, Lindo, etc.). Your impression of Dressel Divers seems pretty good. I don't think they had a firm time limit, but based upon divers abilities, type of dive, etc. they had an idea of how long the dive would be. They also gauged, with the divers input, who would be done first. Those divers low on air went up first, and then the rest followed suit as they continued to use air. I am a relatively inexperienced diver, and the only diver out of a group of 9 (plus I have/had 2 young kids), so on-site Dressel worked for me. This was back in December 2007. I was happy the dives and the service.

Sorry, but I can't help you on the exposure protection issue. I dove in December. I always think you are better to be too warm than cold when diving, but that's just my opinion. Once in the water, I don't ever recall being too warm (but I have been too cold).

Hope I helped. Good luck.
