First off, I know this forum doesn’t like to call out dive ops by name, but I witnessed multiple issues the last two days and feel in the interest of safety, to share here.

If you are diving with dressel, double check the smell of your air. Strong fuel smells were coming from the nitrox tanks. The guides were replacing tanks all over the place.

I saw no injuries, but it definitely creeped me out. If you are down here now or coming, double and triple check it.

Be safe divers!

Thank you for posting it here. This is a public safety notice and should be posted everywhere.

Does anyone know if Dressel uses the air delivery that a lot of cozumel uses? My understanding is that many dive shops don't have their own compressors but get air tanks delivered daily from some centralized source.

Good point. I believe most Dive ops use one of the big filling services.

Aldora has their own.

I believe they have their own compressor system and membrane systeem for nitrox.

There is a photo on the Dressel website of a compressor. That said, who (other than Dressel) really knows where these tanks were filled? Did their system go down forcing them to use a fill station as a stop gap? Is it an old photo? Even if not is there a problem with their system?

Fill systems can work fine many years but fail without warning if vigilance and monitoring breakdown. Seems the situation is known and being addressed ("The guides were replacing tanks all over the place."), hopefully without incident, but as users we all have to remain aware and on guard.
