Think I picked up a Dive Rite MR11 HID light (slimline).

Trying to build a new Li-Ion battery pack for it.

Any voltage limitations on the HID bulb ballast? Would 16.8V be too much? I read elsewhere that there's a very limited voltage range for these lights.

you probably don't have newer digital ballast which can operate with higher electrical tensions ?.... if not ...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
you can simply build pack with 3S for LiPo 's (3x 3,7V) or LiFePO4(4x3,2V)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
you can also simple limit ballast input voltage with using simple LDO o as shown on picture

(you even don't need capacitors lonely three pin IN-GND-OUT look datasheet )

TEXAS INSTRUMENTS - LM2940CT-12 - V REG LDO +12V, 2940, TO-220-3 | CPC UK
