I just received the following from the producer for the 30-minute segment we filmed to air on The Weather Channel in October. A short 90-second version will be airing this week on the dates and at the times indicated below.

If any of my SoCal friends can tape this, I'd greatly appreciate it since I don't have cable.

I wanted to give you an update on our Catalina production for The Weather Channel...

The show is due to air in October but the small 90-second interstitials will air
on The Weather Channel this week. These segments will run during the dates/times
below.

Wednesday (3/21) and Thursday nights during Evening Edition in the first
20-minutes of each hour (9pm, 10pm and then 12, 1, 2 am EST).

And then in the first 20-minutes during Weekend View/Now (between 10am-2pm EST) -
3/24 and 3/25.

Or simply check TWC website - www.weather.com/roadcrew

Below are the segments:

Kelp Forest
Catalina Conservancy Eco Tour
Kiteboarding
Lobster Diving

These segments are just a preview of the bigger picture set to hit the screen this
fall. The full show will be in HD (High Definition)...Catalina has never looked so
good!

Glad to see all that research diving is paying off!!

90 seconds? Gee, where will I find the time?

Crap, just borrowed Kev's slickedy new very expensive plasma flat screen HD bangity whiz TV with fluffer accessories.

How am I supposed to get this over to Catalina for your celebrity signature on the front of the plaZma screen?

Need the great minds of the SB!

Happy Thursday to all,

T

The schedule the producer gave me (see above) was for the airing of all four of the Catalina segments. The shows I saw last night were on the jeep eco-tour of Catalina and the bison. Looks like I'll have to run up to the guest apartment every night the show is on until I see my ugly mug. Of course if my dive buddy Heather is included, it will be worth your while (and she's not only beautiful, but intelligent and a passionate... diver).

Drat! Missed this thread, so I didn't get the first one, but I'll see if I can grab the next two and get a DVD burned for you.

Thanks. I think the only day it aired was last night (Thursday). I did get to see it, but on a pretty crappy TV so it was hard to see how well my underwater footage came out. I looked my usual ugly self, but dive buddy Heather (a member here on SB) looked (and spoke) great.

Woke up about 1am this morning, turned on the weather channel real quick as I had diving planned this morning, thunder and lighting at my house last night so I had to make sure the radar was clear, low and behold Dr Bill talking about Kelp and the silly Weather Channel guy clearly not geared up for diving but mere snorkeling making a fool of himself on the steps at the dive park.

Dr Bill you looked pretty good both floating behind the dork with all your gear on and on land discussing the Kelp.

Congrats

Kim

Thanks, Kim. Dive buddy Heather did a great job of taking the show's host out for his snorkel tour. It will be interesting to see how much more of the interview and myt underwater footage they use in the 30-minute spot in October.

Dang I missed this thread. Will be sure to look when the other spots are on :) Kudos to you :wave-smil
