I picked up a DPV crotch strap a couple years ago and can't remember or locate where I got it from.

It is 1.5" strap with a D ring in the front that splits into 2 1.5" straps that go between your legs to your backplate or waist belt.

I've seen something similar that is part of a larger harness setup but not just the "Y" strap I'm looking for.

Has anyone seen anything like that?

Jim

What I have and looking for is just the "Y" strap portion of that setup.

That second link @grantctobin provided shows the simplest (but still entirely effective) version possible. Can you describe how your version is different?

When I made my reply I didn't see the cave adventures link. I searched my older email account and found that strap purchase in July of 2020. FYI, the price of the strap has gone up by 10$ in the last 2.5 years.

Thanks for the help. I've been looking for this strap for months now.

I've been experimenting with the DPV crotch strap comfort issue and have been looking into climbing harnesses. The problem in saltwater is the climbing harness has metal pieces that rust. Instead, I came across the Swiss Seat Harness. It is a simple harness that can be made out of a piece of line or webbing. Youtube has lots of videos on how to tie it, this one is nice and short -

There is also the XDeep Zen Y crotch strap that attaches to the backplate …

XDeep Y Crotch Strap

Same thing as the cave dive link I suppose…

I used a Swiss seat for an outdoor adventure course in high school and again when I was in Marine Corps basic training. For rappelling, you need to tie the seat somewhat tight or else you'll get an atomic wedgie when your fall weight is put on it.

With a DPV, it shouldn't be an issue.
