resqsqurt:This is an example of the inflatable Type V PFD referred to earlier. It automatically inflates when it hits the water, or it can be inflated manually by pulling the cord. We use these for all boat operators, shore-based line tenders, and other non-water-entry personnel. Because they have little bulk, especially when compared to traditional PFDs, our personnel love them.....

That's similar to what I wore when I was in the Coast Guard. We also wear that on our PD's Danzig boat. Even with body armor and your Sam Brown belt with gear you are able to come up and stay afloat easliy.
