Have heard good things about the dolphin reserve at Anthony's and would love to have the chance to interact with the dolphins during our visit. Can anyone tell me if you have done the dive or the snorkel and which experience is better.

The snorkel is much cheaper and will result in a much more touchy-feely interaction.
The "dive" is for a few minutes at depth, the dolphins come through and zoom around you. If you dive long enough, you'll have this experience for free and in a natural environment.

You will have alot more contact - a far better briefing about dolphins - and save a pretty good chuck of change...........
Cool-thanks all for the advice. Snorkel it is. I just want to experience them up close and personal. Would be a dream some true to be in the water with them. Awesome creatures. My most memorable times on the water are with pods of dolphins teasing us and playing with our boats.

Let us know how it went. I'm going down the end of May and plan to do the shark dive. Thought about the Dolphin one ,,but know it maybe be better to just do the snorkel with them. Also heard that some boat captains may stop for you to swim with them on a dive trip if they see them. This way it would be a bonus to that trip since they would be free dolphins..........Anyone else heard of some doing this??

Yes, it's a pretty common occurance where you are going~ to CoCoView. As the boats head East from CCV, they pass First Bight ("bay") near Parrot Tree. That's where the wild Dolphins seem to cruise. This is also where the Killer Whales and the Pilot Whales were seen & snorkeled with.
Must be good eats in the vicinty.
It is also common to look into the sunset from CCV and see the Dolphins popping out of the water off shore of French Key (West of Fantasy Island).
The AKR Dolphin Snorkel is an excellent "last day" activity for off-gassing before the air flight.

I did it in Puerto Vallarta it was expensive but well worth the money. It cost 159.00 per person, I bought 5 pics at 10.00 each plus pruchased the video for 35.00. I got to ride on the dolphin, pet, feed, kiss (lol) and train. The experience was about 2 hours long. They are truly amazing creatures.

Thanks!!! Sounds like a good last day thing to do. Also the girlfriend and her daughter want to do the zip line tour. Not the combat one but the other (not as hard) one,,,,,we are not 20 or even 30 or 40 anymore!!!RoatanMan:
We actually interacted with the smaller dolphins for free when we were at AKR. You can lie on the pier and the little ones bring sea grass for you to throw. They bring them back to you much like a dog fetches a tennis ball. This didn't cost anything. I did do the dolphin dive. It was longer than a few minutes and it was neat watching the dolphin (only one showed up - the females were in heat and they couldn't coach the second one away from them) chase down critters to eat in between our petting times. I'm glad I did the dive.
