Husband doesn't dive and never will. He doesn't swim. He knows I love it and is fine with me taking time on vacation to get in a couple of dives. If I travel without him then I dive as much as I want. We have been together for 19 years and married for almost 15 years so are both fine with doing our own thing part of the time.

After 28 years of marriage and raising two kids, we both found out that the other had always wanted to learn to scuba, which is kind of funny considering that we talk about almost everything, but had never discussed that.

We took our OW class together in September, 2008, did our cert dives together in October, 2008, taken two more dive trips to Mexico together since then, and are going to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary by diving in Fiji.

Some couple need and enjoy their time apart, but we're the opposite. We really enjoy being together, and there's no one I'd rather go on vacation with than her.

Like DrBill, for me it is more he will dive... :blinking: and will understand that all our holidays are spent abroad diving diving diving...

I don't have a partner.

I do occasionally dive with my ex-wife. In fact, we still once in a while will go off on a dive trip together.

Some people think that's strange ... :dontknow:

My wife does dive, thank goodness, and because of that we travel to some great places together that I'm sure I'd never get to unless she went with.

My partner doesn't dive. He can't swim either and hasn't been in a boat as far as I know.

He is going to do a try dive this summer and we'll see then. I don't have much hope he will like it though ;)

Took me 7 years to convince her but her first dive was on Coz - after that we do at least one long trip a year, always to great destinations! Shes now moved up to AOW with Nitrox and is as keen as mustard to get to warm places to dive.

All I have to do now is convince her that there is some good diving in the UK and its not too cold!

Then I guess he's really charming, or good looking, or smart, huh?;)

I only learned to dive 2 years ago. My wife does not dive. Doesn't much like being in the water. She is going to try snorkeling, got her the gear and she got a lesson. She does support me though. She likes going on the trips to shop, lay in a hammock and read a book, explore the island and relax.

Warm water only! We try to do 3x10 day live aboards a year and she will make almost all of the dives. Didn't dive when we met, almost quite the first trip, stuck with it and now loves it.
